I think we have a final solution on the paneling. White finished beadboard with a chair rail. Then we can paint it later once my wife figures out what colors. The white finished paneling is only $17 a sheet compared to $36 a sheet for the unfinished.

Gosh everything is coming on in leaps and bounds now and is looking wonderful. I wouldn't let anyone go near a new kitchen if I had one for at least a week!! :p

Not a whole lot done today. They finished up some small jobs. All of the tile is laid now. He extended the soffit over the stove so that cabinet can go in to. He brought the white paneling down today and tomorrow, some of that will go up so they can get the last 4 cabinets hung.

I hope you'll get it done today then, Capt. It's not nice to live in a building site. Everything is looking good so far.

The people from the countertop co. came out yesterday and did the template for that. But it will be 1 to 2 weeks before the countertop is ready. We do dishes in a 5 gal. bucket and get the water from the bathroom.

The 4 cabinets are up on the blank wall. This is thw wall that had the 3 cabinets setting on the floor in the before photo's.

Those look like good sized cabinets. How many shelves do they have? Do you have a step stool to reach the top shelf? It's looking good. dooley

Those are 36 in cabinets and 2 door with no divider. I don't know for sure how many shelves are in each one. I can reach the top shelf, but my wife will have to use a step stool.

Oh to have a big enough kitchen to have all that cupboard space in it!! Knowing me though I'd end up packing all my craft stuff into them so maybe it''s not such a good idea for me after all.

Not a whole lot going on today. They got more paneling put up, almost done with that. They did have a bit of a setback when they went to mount the base board heater back in the utility room. They used a longer screw than what came out of it. The screw went into the stud and there was a water pipe running through the stud and we had water all over the basement. Got that repaired and pretty much cleaned up.
