This had to be the prettiest park we had been to .... ever. Lush and roomy on the lake. Our set up was the 5x8 foot caravan and my Toyota. Our retreat from the rain and sleeping quarters. We can cook in here but with two it’s tight and we prefer being outdoors. The sleeping cot is extended so takes up the majority of the space. Lounging and reading during the thunder showers. Hubby helped me take out the center seats on my tow vehicle. It made it possible to create a bed and still use the back seats. Lots more room for hauling stuff too. What a win-win. We stored the seats in the attic Incase I ever want to sell the rig. My own little travel van while hubby is working. This park had multiple swimming holes a wonderful trail along the lake, cabins and beautiful Pacific Northwest scenery. We found the rope swing for jumping into the lake. But decided to venture on down the trail. There were at least two rabbits that enjoyed the open area close to the bathrooms. They were so tame I almost stepped on one. Then there was this little rascal. He found our food bag with the cashews and almonds. Looking forward to another little adventure, but will wait until next month.
WOW what a beautiful place!! The scenery is to die for and it looks as though you got good weather too. Thanks for sharing you photographs with us all. Very much appreciated and a real pleasure to look at.
Great foto spread, Jewell. Pity it is at the seasons' end, isn't it? Well, at least you and we on here will have something to look forward to next year. I enjoyed the various posts that you did showing your camping locations and kit.
Hi @Jewell lovely shots and a nice relaxing place to stop by the looks of your pictures, always be aware food is an appetizer you've done well altering your little camper and as long as it beds you and your in warm that's what counts, a lot of people here use normal vans and just throw in a mattress...nice one
Very impressed! Not wishing to hi-jack your thread, but some might be interested in this. Never been into camping, but our youngest son and his family are, you could say in style... In "Ruby" the 1967 VW "splitty" he restored. He, his partner and her daughter have been all over Europe in it in the last ten years. "Ruby" creates a lot of attention, everywhere she goes, but in the winter she's tucked up in a garage. She came from Utah, so there was no rust, but still needed an awful lot of work. He has a friend who has a body shop, who did the bodywork and the re-spray, but he did the rest and she made the curtains on her sewing machine. It's a working vehicle, not a showpiece as are some. Notice the bottle opener on the door pillar above her left shoulder. So "all mod con." Our son and his partner had to share a tent and let her daughter have the bed when they all went away together, but now she is older they go away on their own sometimes. On their first trip abroad they made sure they'd be OK as they had some friends going with them in a conventional saloon car..... A restored 1958 Austin Cambridge!
An old VW camper bus....but not "old" at all now. I have always SO wanted one!!! If I were at your son's camping area I would be one of the other campers oggling that bus!
