Tried watching "Trigger Point" on ITV X. It's "same as same as." Main character, predictably, has a lot of personal baggage and there's too many elements of "The Pantomime Factor" to bother watching more than part of one episode. It's happened for years. Watched TRON 1982 ‧ Sci-fi/Action Movie by Walt Disney on the way back from Seoul, South Korea on a Singapore Airlines red eye flight. Nice movie with lots if action and very futuristic even now.
I watched the recording I made of, "The Long Memory." A 1953 film noir starring John Mills. I'd watched it a few times over the years. I'm always impressed with the performance of a quite unknown actress, Eva Bergh, who had a small part in it. Less impressed with that of Elizabeth Sellars, who had a much bigger part. Much of it was filmed in a seedy part of Gravesend and the lower reaches of the south bank of the Thames. Most of the houses were demolished shortly after the film was made.
I watched the 1948 film "Miranda" on Talking Pictures this evening. I've seen it before, but I quite enjoyed it. "A young married physician discovers a mermaid, and gives in to her request to be taken to see London. Comedy and romantic entanglements ensue soon after." The production values were good for the time, just three years after the war, with some furniture in a style that reminded me of Art Deco. No CGI, no overt sex, no over-loud music, but with completely intelligible dialogue, because the very recognisable cast, had theatre experience. Who of course are now long dead. The plot centres around the fact that several other men are attracted to her. At the end, as she must, she returns to the sea, having expressed a desire to go somewhere warm like Majorca. The last shot is of her sitting on a rock by the sea which we're to believe must be Majorca. But she has a baby mermaid on her lap! Work that one out!
Last movie I saw few days ago, was Bugonia... Parts of it were unbelievably funny, which often had me fall out of my chair, (as I saw a little bit of myself in this, but thankfully only a little) - Anyway I'm not going to spoil it for anyone. You all just have to see it for yourself.
Watched Marty Supreme this afternoon at the cinema. Really enjoyed it . Such talented young actors emerging...they will undoutedly go far. The main male chacracter ( Timothée Chalamet ) also played Bob Dylan recently in the film 'The Complete Unknown'.
No it's out now......there are so many films that my friends and I want to see...it's hard to find the time!! The next one that I most definitely will be booking either for next week or the week after is Hamnet. Hopefully we'll get to see Song Sung Blue....I bet it will be great fun with everyone singing along .

Went to see Hamnet today ....it well deserves all the good reviews. . The cast are great and all are so talented, especially the 12 year old boy that plays Hamnet! . All the awards won so far and nominations made on others are truly justified. Definitely recommended. Our next one is going to be H is for Hawk.
