Hi everyone! We are novice plant parents. We’ve never pruned a plant, and most of ours run wild mostly because we are still learning. We noticed some of our coleus stems starting leaning recently when they once stood tall. The stems have actually curved as well, so I included some photos of the new bends. I wasn’t sure if this was a response to reach more sunlight, if the thick stems need support, if it needs pruning, if everything is just okay, and/or whatever else. Any feedback is much appreciated! Thank you Love, Kelly & Luke
Hello Kelly and welcome to the forums It looks as if it's getting too tall. The tall stems prune it half way down and it should grow from there. The pieces that you take off will root in some water if you want more plants. Can't tell where the plant is from the picture.
I agree 100% with Logan. When you lop off those long stems, you could also remove the tops and place the severed stem in a jar of water. Within a few weeks they ought to form roots. You can then plant them and you will have a new plant. I did that for years. If you let them bloom, then you could get some lovely blooms.
