This is the latest addition to my Heuchera collection. Heuchera "Citronelle" ( photo / image / picture from Kay's Garden ) Pretty girl brightens up the shady area! I really love these plants! I now have 39... I think I need one more to make it an even 40. Don't ya think?
Kay, Your citronella is beautiful, and yes, you need anoyther one. Do any of yours ever reseed? I found 3 in a pot that had cannas in it last year (which didn't winter over) and when I went to toss the junk in the compost there were little coral bells growing in the pots. So I put them all in one pot and now they are about 2" tall.
Awww, she's beautiful! I'd say go out and buy yourself another one, and if you see a couple more you like, bring them home too. You don't have to stop at an even number. ;-)
Heuchera "Miracle" ( photo / image / picture from Kay's Garden ) You guys talked me into it. #40! This is "Miracle" I scooted over to a nice little nursery that is close by. The selection was not wide, but I found this cutie that I don't have. This one has foliage that emerges chartreuse, turning reddish as it ages. Suppose to be heat and humidity tolerant... should fit right in here. It is pretty windy and hot today!
I like the two that you have shown. I only have one sort, but I am very pleased with that one. Way to go with getting that last one. My goodness--forty of them, that's something else. Do you have them all in one bed, opr are they spread about your garden?
I never heard of these but I never had a shade garden until now! They are a bright spot in a dark corner I have a few that I need to move, do they transplant well?
I am happy I got #40! Sjoerd- I have my Heuchs all around the garden. They come in several different colors which is probably why I am so drawn to them. Greens, purples, peachy, chartreuse, speckled, dotted... Cris- They are rather shallow rooted, so transplant with care. I have good luck moving them though.
