We have a tamperproof mailbox. Not all that attractive but well worth the investment. Our has a key to retrieve mail with an opening so small mail can’t be fished out. Positioned on a steel pole in concrete and bolted on a steel frame.
Summers .. kids get bored and like to harass people . Not much can be done other than shut it down and just use a post office box number, retrieving mail at the post office only. Or maybe a hidden trail cam and bust ‘em in the act.

Hmmmm.... Not sure if any of that would work against the depredations of snow plows & snow banks.

Hi Cayuga Morning ….Snowplows definitely can knock over mailboxes during snow clean up, so can cars.

The above posts were related to saving mail boxes that are tamper proof from kids that are bored over school vaca and try to damage mail boxes for fun.
When I lived in Colorado snow plows would bury cars and landscaped areas to open main roads and highways. Many people had to dig out their vehicles.
We don’t ever have a snowplow on our road when it snows. I just get out the tractor and use the front bucket to scoop down the driveway to the road and push the snow and ice to the side of the road.

I had saved these for this thread long ago but forgot where it was. My phone will be faster without these files.

Even though all the mailboxes are unique and individual works of beautiful art my favorite is ‘BOB’S BIG BOY’ - The arm holding the burger with red check sleeves.I recognize it , actually it is an arm off a huge statue that were originally in front of all the BOB’S BIG BOY Burger restaurants. Thanks for posting .

OMG these are great!!!! Who knew the world could be so creative with their mailboxes.

The pics below are typical of the state of the mailboxes in our town. What gives?

    Look closely...see the letter inside?
"Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds."

    So sad.

The other day, I came upon this ad:
