With all the rain we've been having, our red-eared slider turtles are moving up into the yard. Flooded out in the pond?
Here is one mama turtle laying eggs in our path to the barn. We are very careful not to step there (have small stakes around the nest).

Fascinating, Marlin. How many days until they will hatch, do you think? I shall watch this space.

Great photo. I loved seeing all the box and pond turtles when visiting my folks in Texas. We have a native pond turtle here. I love visiting the natural reserve area where they live in a beaver pond. It is one of the favorite areas that schools do field trips to because it is also a good area to see salmon spawning. They’ve even created boardwalks, and cleared areas for class instruction since it is so heavily used.

yes, and please keep us posted :)
