I have been watching the weather intensely and for the next 2 weeks, we will have temps around 20• centigrade no frosts in the night. I built up my new tunnel and planted out 18 tomatoes in it. We could still get frosts up to mid may, but I don't think so. Very mild winter even though we had lots of snowfalls, it melted every time.

Looking at my last post on this thread, famous last words, we had patchy frost last monday, no real damage to plants though, Here are a few recent pics of my vegs. IMG_0312.JPG From left to right, chard, 2 rows of beetroots, boxes mostly garlic and strawberries, then come 2 rows of carrots and radishes.

IMG_0314.JPG Tomatoes that have now outgrown their tunnel, along with lots of flowers.

IMG_0315.JPG A closeup of one of the strawberry and garlic beds.

IMG_0316.JPG The damask rose is just coming into flower.

This is what I harvested today. Our first ones. IMG_0524.JPG The largest tomato weighed in at 405 grams.

Let’s have a look at what we have growing now.
B25B8F21-B961-42B9-A1D0-E846D2914E70.jpeg These will need to be eaten to make way for tomatoes.

Got a few images for you lot. 59FCE7CA-AD40-46E9-ACE2-3616383C59A1.jpeg No I haven‘t forgotten to weed. Here I broadcast Rucola amongst the onion patch.

I also have a couple of pics from my other garden. 08C767CB-4975-4503-BA54-A536E3DFC0C7.jpeg The Camelia is flowering.

7CC5874C-3DB4-45AD-ACBB-A0E979C2147B.jpeg We let the wisteria climb up an ash tree. After about 10 years it has finally reached the top. Hopefully it will start to flower soon.

What an amazing garden. I admire all the work you put into it. What a bounty of produce you will have. We are keeping it very small this year because of the labor involved so I am super appreciative of what you have accomplished.:stew1::like::stew1:

I removed 2 rows of potatoes to make way for cauliflower and onions.

Here I have just planted cauliflower and courgettes lettuces and peppers. The peas are just coming into flower.

The view from the other side of the peas. The onions are doing really well this year. We just had a thunderstorm pass through early this morning. Really needed.

@Sjoerd as promised a picture of my weeding tool. Mine is only a pull tool, it doesn’t work when I push. The two handed five forked tool is also excellent. I will plant my ”rose du bern“ tomatoes out here. I have 20 plants. I will crush up comfrey for the bottom of the holes.

That digging fork is pretty amazing Odif.

You know, we should have a thread of our favorite tools.

Thanks for showing the tool, Odif...well, both of them actually. I really enjoy seeing tools. When I go to gardening expo's, tools are one of my priorities. My problem now is--what do I do with the tools when I finally stop gardening.
Cayu--I once posted a pic on my favourite tools...and only thgn did I notice how many I actually had. I have special tools for specific jobs. Luckily I have been able to get many of them second hand through the years.
