And another one of my Mom's old daylilies bloomed today. I believe it's called Apricot Sparkle.

Cherylad--So pretty. I have a similar daylily, but of course it doesn't bloom in MA until July! I love the alternating colored petals.

Day lilies were my Mom's favorite. I'm so excited now to have a few more varieties that I wish there were "week lilies"! Or "month lilies"! Oh what the heck... how about some "year lilies"! :stew2:

Cherylad--Daylilies were a favorite with my mother as well, but we only had the orange species in our yard. We used to pick the buds and stir fry them with other vegies for dinner. I think in Chinese recipes they are called 'golden needles'.

O.K. Cheryl, I'm starting to take notes. Last daylily was a winner.

Jerry... it seems that, so far, only the orange and yellow daylilies have been blooming. I bought a wide variety of colors one my trip to the daylily farm last fall. I've been so ever-NOT-so-patiently waiting for some of the new and different colors to bloom (not that there was anything wrong with others). I was tickled pink (pun intended) to see this one!
Every day when I get home from work, I check to see if there are any others blooming (and there are lots of buds). :stew2:

And here's one that I've been just waiting for. It's a mini called Tropical Delight that Stratsmom (Deanna) gave me. I TOTALLY love it and am so proud to have it in my garden!!!!!!
