Need Help finding a bath tub that's less than 59" in le

This forum has been incredibly useful to me in the past but this is my first post here!
My husband and I are trying to finish our small cabin, and don't have enough room for a standard sized bath tub. I have searched quite a bit, but have not had much luck. Can anyone give us names of manufacturers that make smaller sized tubs? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you definitely need a tub or would a shower stall work for you? Try googling custom bathtub manufacturer, you should find something there.

    Hi, and welcome. :)

My older home has very small bathrooms  especially by today's standards,
and the existing full sized tubs take up alot of space.
When (and if) I am able to take on the job of remodeling,
I plan to replace the standard tub in the master bath
with a Japanese style soaking tub. :D Click to see.
The measurements I've seen tend to be 40x40.

Check if you have one of those building supply places that markets to manufactured-home owners- they usually have a stock of shorter-than-average tubs.
On the other hand, DH lived in China in his youth and still raves about those soaking tubs- apparently you tile the floor, put a drain in it, and have a good rinse-off before getting in the tub. Just another thought.

I found this one. It is a little pricey, but I bet you could find some antique dealer who has one for a song. I remember seeing a bunch of antique tubs while out driving a few years ago. The trouble is that I cannot remember where it was . . . either SC or Va, I think. :sete_010:

    I will keep looking . . .

Manufacturers only make things that they can sell. If they made a 58" tub they might only sell one, and that would be to your. If you cannot use a 60" tub, the next smaller commercial one is 54". Anything between the two measurements would have to be plastic and made locally.

You might try a travel trailer manufacture.
I do beleive they make a three foot tub.

The only thing is they are made to go over a wheel well so there is only about a foot and a half that holds water and the other half you can sit on.

I have this funky catalog called "Bathroom Machineries" and they advertise a "Maid's Tub" 48" cuter than all get out!! The email is : www.deabath.com
I went to the website last night to order a new catalog and they informed me that they no longer have an actual catalog, on line only. I looked at this tub and it was on sale for less than 1/2 price in my catalog!
    Good Luck

Thanks for the posts. I too need a shorter than normal tub if I want to remodel the bathroom. We have the "old farm house" from when they used to convert the pantry into the new indoor bathroom.
