This year we have a pair of Indigo Bunting that joined our crew of birds ! We are still feeding them so guess they decided that free food was better than hunting for it. We have not had these before but they seem to be staying in our huge elm tree. Bright,, an most florescent blue with slightly darker head and tail. About half the size of a common sparrow. Not much bigger than a Hummingbird. Wish I could get pics but my camera is not that good.
https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Indigo_Bunting/overview I am jealous, my MIL lives about 2 hours south of us and she has them in her yard but I have never seen one up here.
oh... such beautiful birds. we had them in our yard quite a few years ago but I haven't seen any for along time.
What a handsome little bird Mart. We have nothing to really rival them here - well maybe our Kingfishers but they don't visit our garden.
