Newest visitor to my Butterfly bushes

    While I was watering the butterfly bushes, I found this guy. Very pretty moth.

    When he stopped, it seemed he was resting. Once he almost fell off the butterfly bush. He did eat a little. But the closer I got, I saw worn spots on his wings and they looked a little ragged. Sadly, I think he was getting ready to die. Wish I had seen him around sooner! When he flew away, he didnt get far! He took a short rest on my Jammie leg!

    What a cutie. He is a red admiral butterfly or as we like to say a red admirable. His larval food is nettles. 8)

    Great piccies Denee but it seems such a shame that butterflies have to die, sometimes just a few days after laying eggs, as they brighten our days with their presence.

    Nettles?? I have tons of those around! Maybe Ill see more.

    Really good pics, but it is sad that he is in such bad shape. I hope he has a peaceful passing. When I was little and would walk to my grandma's house I would find butterflies dead in the road and it always made me sad.
