We painted our office the Ralph Lauren Terracotta Pot color and a gold color with it. We really like the Terracotta color but not the gold. The gold color is really bright like the 1st pic, the 2nd is a little deceiving because it looks lighter than it really is. We have 2 full walls painted with the Terracotta and did the other 2 walls in the Gold which we would like to change. The room is approximately 140sf with 2 good size windows. We are adding a large desk and wall unit that are a dark espresso color so I don't think we want too dark of a color to keep the room from looking too small. We prefer to add a 2nd color rather than paint the whole room in the Terracotta for this reason as well. Any ideas on colors that would look good with the Terracotta color?

Any chance of a photo to get an idea of the space you're painting? If the space is a large wall, top half of all the walls, etc. that will be a large influence on what other color your could use.
If the gold was used as an accent color here and there then there are more options.

Accent colors with the terracotta could be some of the greens, blues or even red, you could even use all those colors if the accent spaces were scattered around the area.
Large spaces should probably be a color that is lighter than the terracotta....unless the whole area is a large room with lots of windows and light then one of the darker colors could work.
The problem with going lighter than the terracotta is that would be beige, sand, off-white and that would probably create a boring, bland looking place.

Taupe or a light brown would look good with the terracotta and work nicely with the espresso desk and wall unit.
Natural tones with the terracotta will look great and not over power a small space.

I would go with an earth or sand shade that had a sort of pink undertone !! The gold could then be used as an accent color !! Just not on the walls !!
