After struggling all month over issues with my addict son, I'm forcing myself to put that behind me in order to enjoy Christmas with my other kids and grandkids. So, in my attempt to get fully into the Christmas spirit, I decided I needed a Christmas tree in my room. But there just isn't enough space for a full sized one, even a small full sized one.....

    So I compromised. :)

I found teeny tiny ornaments, an adorable string of mini lights, even a tree topper! And you'll notice in that first photo behind the tree, the decorations my son Devin made when he was a toddler, which I've displayed every single year for the last 30! They're hideous and faded and a mess, but they're priceless to me. :)

Between that and another mini string of lights on my headboard, I feel all Christmasy now!

That is so very nice. It's good that you get into the spirit. It''s good for you and all the kids. You will look back and have great memories. That's what makes it...

    I pray for your son..

There you go Ronni, I hope your little tree gives you and your family some Christmas cheer! It is very cute.
It is so hard to feel festive when your heart aches, but feeling the mood and spirit of Christmas hopefully will bring you some comfort and joy.

Who says a Christmas tree has to be huge to be effective in bringing joy? Your's is so cute.
I enjoy my little tree too... just the right size!

Ronni, Glad your getting into the holiday spirit. I'm sure the little ones will help lift your spirits also.
I have a small tree also. It's just big enough and much easier to take down after Christmas. Two years ago my daughter could not afford a tree. So we told her we would bring her and the kids a tree. My car has elec. outlets in it. So when we got there we back in popped the back door and I plugged in the tree all decorated in the back of my car. It's the tree I am using this year. And I love it.

I am so sorry for what your son is going through and all of the family. Your tree is pretty no matter what the size. Try and remember all of the good times and have a good time with the rest of the family. Merry Christmas

What a cute tree and just the perfect size for your room. When I put up a tree, the star on top is one that our youngest made almost 20 years ago....gotta keep the good stuff!!

Big or small its plain to see
The elves will dance around your tree.
Across your headboard they will scurry
while you slumber without a worry.
Holiday wishes they bring to you
and a visit from jolly ol’ santa too.

Awww Jerry! What a cute poem :)

Donna I love your story about your lit up tree in the back of the car!

Thanks everyone...I'm in "fake it till you make it" mode...and it seems to be working! ;)

Ronni, sometimes being in that mode is the only way to survive. And one day you will realize that you aren't faking it anymore.

I think the tree, decorations and lights are the perfect size for your room and it definitely gave it a festive holiday feeling. I'm glad that your are feeling a little better.
