I did it! I went stand-up paddle boarding! And I didn't even fall in! My son Grayson came with me and a couple of my friends. He fell in more than once! We weren't sure it was going to be open, after 4 days of Harvey's rain and storms that visited Nashville. But Saturday dawned dry and sunny. It was so much fun, the weather was perfect, the lake smooth as glass, a slight breeze and mild temps. We had a fun instructor who it turns out knows some of my dance friends becuase he's a zumba and hip hop instructor at a local gym! Small world. Well, that one's in the books now..always wanted to Paddle Board. I still plan to go zip lining and aerial trekking later this month, and am hoping to fit in a trip to Atlanta to kayak the Broad river there, before it gets too cold! Gorgeous scenery! I was so proud I actually managed to stand up!! That's me having finally figured out how to paddle correctly! Oops! Grayson was trying to be a showoff, and managed to tip himself into the water! Grayson needed a rest after the time it took him to get back on the board We were far enough out in the lake that it was deep and we couldn't touch bottom, so trying to clamber up on the thing with no support is quite an effort!
Lou Grant...."You got spunk." Mary Tyler Moore..."Oh thank you Mr Grant." Lou Grant..."I hate spunk!"
It really was a blast, and MUCH easier than I had anticipated! If you want to try it, you should go for it before it gets too cold and you have to wait till next year! It really was a blast, and MUCH easier than I had anticipated! My next adventure is more zip lining and aerial trekking! I did that last year and just loved it! A couple of my kids want to try it, and several of the friends who did it last time with me want to go again, so yay! You know I'll be posting about that when it happens too.
