I'm so sorry you had a bad trade. It takes the fun out of the whole thing for a while, doesn't it? I'm also sorry I live where I live, since I would have loved to trade for a few of your seeds.
Please check your country or states import/export restrictions concerning seeds and plants. There are many hoops to jump thru and the fines can be enormous if the restrictions are violated.
hey pondlady... i'd like (some more) yellowhorn nuts. you sent me some last year i think, but i haven't had much luck. some germinated, grew a little and then died. the nuts were ok, i just didn't look after them. maybe the soil was too wet and i know many nuts were rotten. now i only have one very small seedling out there in the garden and i wanna see what happens to it. will it die during the harsh winter? it's really small... didn't seem to grow at all - all summer! ANYWAY i'd love some more nuts and maybe some red penstemon seeds. SEEDS i can offer you - Ornithogalum saundersiae (they become bulbs, and in time make tall stems with a bunch of cute white flowers) or... - Euphorbia marginata - Pulsatilla vulgaris (purple) - Delphinium (mix white with blue, not sure) - Tulipa tarda (yellow) - Polemonium caeruleum (blue) - Sisyrinchium striatum (pale yellow) - Godetia amoena (mix of light and dark pinks)- ANNUAL! I am sure I got some more, but I am at work and they are at home. Can't remember. But hopefully you can find something you'd like to have in your garden... from my garden! CALIN
They do not do much the first year, just kind sit there but they are really getting there roots established. they like it on the dry side after they get there leaves. They are not a fast grower at first. i can send you more. Do you have Columbine seeds? I will check out the names you gave me and get back with you.
yup. I should have some columbine seeds. sometimes i give up collecting seeds as columbines are quite popular around here and everyone's got them. I have other seeds at home. will check later and send u a full list. well... the one and only survivor yellowhorn is really small. maybe 2 inches tall. and since it's all outside by itself, i am afraid it will not come green out of the winter. that's why i'd like to have more --> more chances to see flowers in a few years.
Hello, these are the seeds I could find at home. Columbine - 3 kinds (white, dark purple and pink) Ornithogalum saundersiae - white Nicandra physaloides Pulsatilla vulgaris - purple Delphinium (blue and white, probably mixed) Digitalis - pink most likely Linaria purpurea - pink Linaria purpurea - purple Sisyrinchium striatum - pale yellow Euphorbia marginata Euphorbia lathyris purple hot chili Polemonium caeruleum - blue Godetia - pinks pick! pick!
THANKS GAYLA! Got LOTS of nuts! soaked, nicked, soaked again and planted some of them. saving some for later on - in case of UNsuccess! THANKS AGAIN! CALIN
Glad they got there. I sent bunches so you could EAT some. They are quit good, the grand kids love them. Good luck in growing the trees. Mine did not bloom to good this year! Frost got most of the flowers. Other years it is AWESOME to see in full bloom.
