No, I'm not talking about Santa. We had a red bellied woodpecker come to the big ashe juniper in the back yard. He was difficult to photograph because he kept moving around, but husband got a partial photo. We are thinking of drilling holes in a nearby stump and packing peanut butter in the holes. We have been told that woodpeckers love peanut butter.
Great piccy, Jane. It is a lovely specimen. I can tell you with 100% certainty that woodpeckers are very fond of peanut butter. They come up to my feeder and bully the tits and other little birds away and then feast. I am not amused. It is them that always eat our little fledgling tit chicks. It is infuriating, but they are so lovely.
I have about three or four that live here ! Mine just get corn or this week,,,hen scratch ! If I put out peanut butter the dogs eat it !
