I was out and about in the yard today and the red breasted grosbeak was back. I had my camera in my pocket and this is what I got.

Sjoerd, it's as close as he'd let me get.

This cat bird was posing for me.

The blue jays are usually very shy but I caught a couple grazing the ground. Check between the pole and the bird bath for the 2nd one.

Mr. Chippy was just filling his face in the tree and I caught him on his way out...

I would be absolutely beside myself if I found a chipmunk in my yard. They are to cute.

WOW!!! Those photographs are astounding!! The Red-Breasted Goshawk is a very handsome bird - all our birds of prey are dull in comparison. The only time I've seen chipmunks is in a zoo or pet shop. I'd be in the garden all day if I had wildlife like yours visiting. :-D

What a beautiful bird. We are in their migration path but I have never had the pleasure of seeing one in person.

Since I started putting out a combo of cracked corn, whole peanuts and black-oil sunflower seeds we have had a lot more Blue Jays and Cardinals in the back yard. That has been exciting this year.

Cool! I wish I had wildlife here like that. Occasionally I will see a hummingbird, but by the time I get my camera....poof...gone! Other than that just a lot of big hairy spiders...YUCK, I hate spiders!

    Your photos are really great!

Nice pictures! We have 6 mature rose breasted grosbeaks this year. I think a couple kmay be the babies from last year. I've only seen 4 females at a time though.
