    Mike, scent is my holy grail. I think my "smeller" may not work as well as it did. I had to get very close to the David Austins, to appreciate the smell.

    It's why I'm growing carnations this year too.

    It appears that David Austin has the monopoly on roses in the US. I believe he gives a life time warranty on each plant. Here in the UK the warranty is five years. In the past, I have advised disappointed purchasers of any plant to take advantage of such warranties. I wonder how many do?

    I would have to check their website. I thought it was one year.

    Two of the David Austin roses that I bought last year were infected with rose mosaic virus. That hasn't happened in many years of purchasing roses. Not even the big box stores.

    I just checked their website. They have a 5 year warranty here too. I didn't take advantage of it. Too much hassle for me.
