Seed Catalogs for Yr 2020 have begun; I received two in today's mail..
    1. PINETREE GARDEN SEEDS, in ME. and
2, HIGH MOWING Garden Seeds, in VT.
I see some hours of pleasant contemplation ahead for me.

I received a Gurney's catalog last week. I have heard about High Mowing, they were featured on an episode of Growing a Greener World last year.

I need a catalog full of rationalizations and justifications.

Hmmm. That does sound handy Dirt. Although, I suspect you could write it yourself!

I'm not sure how many seed catalogs I will get this year ... my favourite company has already sent an email saying their catalog will only be online ... no paper catalogs any more.
Totally sucks the fun out of seed shopping!

Hank, I got a Pinetree catalog today, too. I used to order from them for many years, but a few years ago the packs of seeds got smaller, the germination rate was less, and I stopped ordering. I have an Annie's Heirloom Seeds catalog that I'll be ordering from in late December.
Netty, I agree---thumbing through a seed catalog, marking "possibles", and deciding which new variety to try is such fun. Can't do that online!

I just got my first seed catalog today! Fedco is a seed and tuber company out of Maine. I always buy my garlic and potatoes from them. Unusual seeds too that I can't get at the discount stores.

Guerney's seed catalog came yesterday. I don't order from them since their "half-price sale" is offset by the shipping costs. They do have nice pictures, though. Why don't my veggies look like that?

I suspect the wax museum may be responsible for at least some catalog pictures!
