Ireland is getting paid a visit by Hurricane Ophelia tomorrow. Never in my life have I experienced hurricane conditions in this country so it will be an experience. Schools, public services and workplaces are going to be closed and unnecessary journeys are being advised against.

It's likely that my internet will go down but I'll do my best to update you all.

Looks as though we're going to be hit too Frank. Better batten down the hatches and stay indoors methinks. They're predicting 80 mph winds so we won't be using the car until it passes over.

The rain will be at ninety degrees for a bit, instead of forty five. Just a bit of a blow.

Take care and stay safe! You may want to stock up on foods that can be eaten cold or at room temperature if the power goes out, fill a few containers with drinking water, tape your windows and greenhouses, and keep pets indoors.
We'll all keep you in our thoughts--hoping for the best!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed when Hurricane Ophelia passed your area she would have lost its fury.
    Be safe Frank, Eileen.

Thanks all. It's still calm enough now but it's expected to arrive just before noon.

On the news it's saying that parts of Ireland have 109 mph winds. One woman in Waterford (Southeast Ireland) has died when a tree fell on her car. Please don't even take a short trip outdoors. It's getting darker by the minute here although it's still quite calm.

If the eye passes over your location don't be fooled by the calmness....that will pass and the wind will hit again only then it will be in the opposite direction.

Three confirmed fatalities so far. Two by a downed tree, and one from a chainsaw accident.
