On Monday a lady's new hyacinths I had planted were beginning to show red florets. Also some more daffodils were in bloom.
Chuckle @Deana Tankersley, that photo is great! ! Put a smile on my face! Spring hopefully will start soon. ..maybe in two weeks? You know: forsythia, daffodils, that sort of thing. We can't plant until after Memorial Day : ( I read an e-newsletter from Margaret Roach "A Way to Garden". It is also a podcast & radio show. Have you heard her? Her April podcast talked about how overwhelming April spring chores can be. ( She got that right!) And she suggests starting by cleaning up the bed you see the most. Like the one by your front door or driveway. So that is what I did yesterday. It felt great. Still feels great today! How you have a good day today.
Makes total sense, and you are so right..after we get out there working for it to be right, knowing how great it's gonna be,it does start feeling pretty good dispite the fatiguing muscles later lol. I worked pretty hard in the vineyard. What's keeps me goin at it so hard is knowing just how beautiful the vines will be very soon.
And finally, spring is here. It has started. Feeling happy and the work is going well. What about you all? what are you doing today?
Weatherman was calling for warm temperatures and sunshine today, but I've just been out with the dog ... it is cold and wet and overcast! Was looking forward to some garden cleanup, but now I'm not so sure! Keeping my fingers crossed that the sun comes out
You are so right @Gregory Cooper . Beautiful wknd here, so nice and Springy, always feel great to be working in the garden and Spring outdoor cleaning, and planting.
I have finally been able to get into the community garden! Planted peas, lettuce, radishes. Yesterday I got the onion sets in! Today is a very wet & rainy day....no gardening today.
Half the day, I was able to clear saplings and misc work..now storming here and tomorrow, guess I'll get into some art or ragrugs until it passes. Wishing all a nice day.
