We don't have squirrels here. They are all down by the pecan bottoms along Sandy Creek. I can't say that I miss them.
Boy those squirrels are really pests around my garden. They dig up plants , eat the peony roots , leave little trails that look like tunnels in the soil . I’ve sprained a few ankles sinking in the soil. They plant the hazel nuts from the tree and in spring there are dozens of new hazel nut sprouts coming up in the garden , pastures and greenhouse pots . I use peppermint oil and rags soaked in ammonia to keep them from getting in the walls and attic. They have dug under the concrete walkways and every winter try to dig a holes under the foundation. It’s just a lot of extra work I don’t always get to or see them before they have excavated out a wheelbarrow of soil from under the foundation. They have decreased many of my new seedlings in the greenhouse this year. Barely have anything left. It looked like there was world war 3 in there. Was a huge mess. Here’s a great video on squirrels by Mark Rober Backyard Walnut Maze.. Soo -o hilarious. Hope this works for everyone.
Pac squirrels are quite clever except when crossing a road; for some reason they lose common sense doing that.
Clay_22 in the case of squirrels have no sense crossing roads, I wish I had a freeway nearby. At first I thought you had a why do squirrels cross the road joke, like why did the chicken …..
