I have a poinciana tree at my garden, I decided to get the seeds out of its pod (very hard to open, had to use a big clipping tool to crack it open), then poured boiling water on the seeds and let them soak for 24h. The seeds sprouted in less than a week: Here is a photo of the sprouted seeds (16 September 2016):
Nice going ,..you are going to have a beautiful tree when it blooms,..this side of the pond we call it Royal Poinciana,..i would prefer 'Flame Tree',..lucky you that you have the climate for a nicer range of plants and trees.
Thanks for the encouraging comments. Here are photos taken today (18 September 2016); this plant seems to grow fast:
WOW that really does seems fast but you must have it in ideal growing conditions it means you'll have a BIG plant in no time I had to Google what this plant was as I don't believe I've ever seen one here (west coast Canada). It IS beautiful with lots of gorgeous colour! Hoping you'll get lots from the seeds. Will love more photos as it goes and grows.
Nice to see,..its a well established little tree at this stage,..will you be upgrading it soon to a bigger container or growing it outdoors in the soil.
