Several years ago we were given this iron rose cross made by a garden club member's husband. We have treasured it and enjoyed it, and this cardinal is enjoying it, too! Somehow appropriate for a Sunday morning.

    Nothing sinful about this cardinal.
    They are gorgeous birds.

What a delightful photograph. I love both the Cardinal and the rose cross - they really compliment each other.

Cardinals are a colorful sight at the feeder each day during the winter. In the summer they nest across the street but still partake of the sunflower feeder. As the Cardinal fledglings mature they often follow mom or dad to the feeder. We also have a Daylily called Chicago Cardinal that stands out in July during the peak flowering season for daylilies. In an unusual "birds of a feather" situation we have had as many as 12 cardinals in the bush next to the feeder on a snowy winter day.
