We have had some really pink sunsets because of the fires in Canada. Such a terrible tragedy too. Not only pink skies, but pink rainbows too.

Very lucky. It only lasted a couple of minutes.
Feel really sad for Canada though with the wild fires there. Could have been born in Canada if my mother had been willing to emigrate after the war. Dad was offered a job in Halifax N.V. when he was stationed there.

This is ‘Fire Season’.. a new season for many of us since the drought has hit . last Saturday morning a train started a wild fire in the state of Washington less than 100 miles from us as the crows fly… it has now burned several hundred acres 10 homes lost and 200 homes in danger. The firefighters have warned that the fire will not be contained 'til sometime in August… :( the smoke is covering the skies and blowing east of us by the Pacific Ocean wind currents.
This is reality hits… keeping everything heavily watered…

I don't remember ever smelling wildfire smoke before this year. I was talking to an elderly client and they mentioned that our government slashed the budget for the preventive maintenance a few years back and we are now paying for it. Should have guessed the government was responsible! :snicker:

Same issue here too… especially knowing about the drought in Canada and many other countries there could have been maintenance done along the way to slow these out of control wildfires and train more firefighters and buy airplanes. wildfire season will affect everyone with sky high insurance coverage.. many large insurance companies and leaving states that are already in disasters and fire map zones.
