OMG sorry to hear the critters snuck in . All that hard work and expectations .. it is so frustrating. I had not seen many hydrangeas for a couple of years due to deer. I cannot grow a lot of thing insitsu any more due to underground critters. So I have left the garden plant that seem to not attract any critters in the garden and started to grow gopher , deer, mice and other delicacies in pots on my porch. Yet the squirrels still dig in all the pots. I have sprayed ammonia and horticultural mint and used Plantskyyd t deter many of the critters that think my garden is a salad bar just for them. The past three years it has seemed to work. I have seen many blooms on plants I haven’t seen in years.
