Same boat here Netty. Very cool still. I still haven't planted much of my garden, but maybe today I'll take a chance and get it done. I have until about June 1st then my season just isn't long enough to have a harvest.

It is a nice change to the visual senses today, with overcast drizzle and lush green. Most of the year is white or yellow, so it is very welcome. The seasons have been very quick and very strange this year. The creek is going down, so hopefully by tomorrow I can have irrigation set up and prime the pump. I would have lost the gardens this year if we didn't get some rain, so I'm very grateful for it.

I'm finishing some home care this morning and then moving to the greenhouse with a mug of tea to tie up and trim plants and do some potting. I still have not received the new phone, but I will take my old little camera. Time for me to make some Comfrey Tea today as well. :)

Good Sunday morning all. Currently just 9°C but the north winds are making it feel more like 5°C.
We went to the dump yesterday and got rid of the old couches and a few things that were laying around the yard. I got almost all my raised beds prepared yesterday, so as soon as the weather co-operates I'll be able to plant my veggies. There is one more raised bed that I need to dig plants out of, the ones I over wintered, and then add some compost to. DD has been bugging me to bring out the fairy garden and those mini hostas are in that bed too. I'll get that done today. And hopefully the grass cut! DD also wants me to show her how to use the sander so she can sand the deck and get the stain on it. Hopefully I can put my son to work today too, by getting him to cut the last of the firewood into logs. Its finally starting to come together around here!
@Melody Mc. thanks for the reminder about Comfrey tea! I'll make some today :)

We woke to +1 C this am, and I was very glad to have remay wrapped around my tomato plants in the greenhouse with the two headlamps on. It was a slow start to the outdoor day today while the world warmed up. I did manage to get three of five squash beds prepped. Hopefully in two days everyone can go into the pool.

I plan on finishing the other two beds tomorrow and hopefully weeding the asparagus bed and planting the babies. But...we shall see. Life showed me this last week to 'take time to take time', and I'm now of the mindset this summer that what doesn't get done doesn't get done. There are more pressing things in life than the garden and that is okay. (...but I really hope to have the gardens :) )

Good Monday morning all. Currently just 3°C and clear. Brrr, this is June, what happened to SPRING?
I got so much work done in the yard yesterday, plus had a visit from a friend which was nice. I also got the back deck sanded so today DD can stain it. Once the deck is dry we can put the patio furniture out and the canopy up on the gazebo. Maybe then it will feel more like spring? Can't even think about the pool yet, its just too darn cold.
Off to work, have a great day all :)

Our Monday started off on a high note! On the way to the coop we noticed our Passion Vine had developed instars. It is a host plant for Gulf Fritillary butterflies, which at this stage are not pretty (understatement) but develop into a lovely butterfly. The Passion Vine is home to both the instar stage and the chrysalis. Here is the instar, with chrysalis to come!

    Told you it wasn't pretty!

I think we will be springing right into summer Netty. We get reports on our side of Canada about how cold and wet your side of Canada is...over twenty years of records broken for you! Summer will come soon!
