The Harbour tower from the balcony: The tower during the day time: Finally the harbour tower from out on the water. It is this view that schippers see when they sail into our city: We recently had a few fairly good days and there was a "Water Week" here. The tower dates from 1532 and was constructed with chalk stone and bricks.
What a view from your balcony! That harbor tower is magnificent, and so welcoming for those sailing into the harbor.
How beautiful! Is this the view you see from your balcony? If so, I'd be setting there gazing much too often. Philip, I'm glad you mentioned the rainbow as I had missed it.
Thanks so much, JANE--It truly is a welcoming site for those sailing into the harbour these days. I reckon that all those ships coming back from abroad when the East India Company was in full swing (the early 1600's) must have been very glad to see it again. Thanks CAROLYN. You are welcome, CAYUGA--I'm glad that you liked the posting. Thanks so much, PHILIP--Yes, very happy here. 2OF--Yes, this is the view from the balcony as well as the master bedroom and living room. We sometimes sit there and have tea, fool around with the tablets or chat with guests. Good that you and Philip saw that discreet rainbow. It was a lovely moment.
