We were at Harbor Freight only yesterday. I didn't see one of those little thermometers or I would have bought one. I'll look for one next time. We did buy some stuff including glow in the dark rope to keep in the truck. dooley
WOW. Experiments... how cool! I wonder back then, what experiments cannibals may have done on their... "meal"? Or temps were much lower back then? MMM... I hope this is not too gruesome for some! It's just a joke!
Well two efforts to make popcorn pop in this heat failed..on the hood and on the dashboard. Randy suggested that I try cinnamon rolls next, hope he remembers to pick up a tube of them at the grocery store this morning after he leaves Dunn Bros.
When our oldest son was a teenager, he made a solar cooker out of heavy cardboard and aluminun foil. He put it out on the roof of the sunporch. It was a flat surface. He tried a lot of things on or in it. Hot dogs cooked in no time flat. All of the boys liked that. Maybe you should try hot dogs, Toni! dooley
Cool experiment anyway. I heard a few years ago that the sidewalk temps in Phoenix were around 350 to 375 F. You could certainly pop corn on the sidewalk, but I wouldn't want to eat that. The reporter who reported that one did cook eggs on the sidewalks that summer. I was thinking the popcorn would work on the interior of the car, but didnt think of the dash. I once got an email with a recipe for stuffing the Thanksgiving turkey with popcorn... lol. That one was funny whether it was true or not. Potroast cooking in the car? Hmmm. That was free and no electric or gas bill for it. I hope it didn't splatter the gravy all over?
Should you ever come to 'Hamvention', let me know. We do have a spare room, and need of gardening help. 8)
