This is my favourite season for the contrast and beauty it has to offer. The leaves are only beginning to yellow - it is anyone's guess if it will be a fall of colour or a fall of falling Because of the mountain behind our home ( aptly named Shadow Mountain) the sun peeks out over it and strikes the trees across the pasture first, and then makes it's way around. This is the sun beginning on a frosty morning, and then when it has lit up the trees but not the field yet. It is still three hours away from reaching the front yard , and won't touch the front of the house for about 5 hours.
Lovely photos, and pretty to see, but it looks a bit cold there. I've been feeling chilly here today but it's still 15 C ( 59 F) The leaves are only just beginning to fall and most of them are still firmly stuck on the trees. Although it became a bit too hot earlier this summer for a few days I don't look forward to the cold weather so much these days. Good to see the sunshine!!
This is an interesting posting, Mel. That large mountain certainly does have an effect on your lighting.
Beautiful photos Melody. Does this mean your property gets less direct sunshine? The shadow of Shadow Mountain?
Thank you for the kind comments about the picture. @Cayuga Morning - The fields and lower garden get full sun - much more than I get at the house. The upper vegetable garden by the house, and the flower beds are all part shade. The full sun veggie garden is also the main garden, and the one that struggles the most with frosts.
