The Stew Xmas Poem

Because if you don't,
you will be garden stewed.

 

Just how horrible
being stewed can be

 

While chewing on fairies
The mewing cat said,
These are so good,
I'll spread them on bread

 

another looked up in dull suprise,
said I dont like fairies,
prefer gnomes instead

 

cat fur flew, gnome hats too
and when it was over
the cat rose anew
with gnome hats aplenty
And we all wondered
exactly how many?

 

The gnomes were not really afraid of the cat,
they knew where the secret escape hatch was at

 

We can get more hats they agreed,
a big bag of socks is all we need.

 

Do you care if they match, have a hole or two
Can they be old, long or short, striped or plain
I have one of each. I have socks for you.

 

so they put them on
wtih much aplomb
then they were gone,
none stayed not one.

 

But what is a Christmas,
Without many gnomes?

 

They are so handy,
At fixing and brewing
