We're bothered with a stray cat. Since it looks like a castrated tom, we're guessing somebody's gone on holiday and just left the cat to fend for itself. Since I've got a soft heart, I feed it, but outside of our property, on a stone. Yesterday evening my husband came in and asked if I had opened a feeding station. I went outside, and this is what I saw:

The aggressive little thing had chased the cat away, and sat happily crunching cat food on the stone. :D Gotta love them!

Awwwww you've got a little 'Prickles' all of your own Droopy. :D Your hedgehog seems to have much more hair on its underparts than ours do and has much lighter spines too. Good for it seeing off the cat!! I hope he/she stays around and keeps your garden slug and cat free. :stew1:

He's cute. I adore hedgehogs and hope they will stay in the vicinity. We've got a big one doing rounds here too, and I think a smaller one, unless it has grown big. They certainly need the hair with our temps at the moment. :D

The stray is far from timid. He keeps beating our cats up to try and take over their home, but we'll have none of that. Guess I shall have to give the hedgehog permanent employment. :D

He is so cute! I would rather have a hedgehog in my yard then a nasty cat!

I'd like both, bar the nastiness. :D Our cats have learned not to try and play with hedgehogs, but they're still curious about them.

You've both got charming guests. What is that animal, PepperDude? We haven't got anything like that up here. Love the butterfly too, ours are smaller and less colourful.

Oh I had ground hogs in PA and trust me you dont want them visiting, ours ate almost our whole garden no matter what type of fence we put up.

What a cute visitor, Droopy. I hope that you can keep your hedgehog visitors around. That cat sure is a mystery. I wonder why he stays around your neighbourhood instead of looking for a different place to hang-out.
Oh well...these are great fotos and show that guys' likeable side.
You took some nice shots, that's for sure.
