I have a sun flower grow from seed, now is 1 feet tall in a 5 inch diameter pot. When should I go to transplant to a bigger pot? Where should the potting mix up to the plant? Cover the brown stem? Please see attached photo.
What variety sunflower is this one ? Looks like it needs to be transplanted to whatever pot it will live in ! Is it outside ? Sunflowers, as the name implies, need sunlight to grow properly ! I would also suggest staking it loosely ! When you transplant keep soil level at about the same depth as it is !
Same as I said earlier but since these are dwarf variety may not need staking ! Says the larger the pot the more flower heads you get and when flowers die leave them to dry and collect the seeds to replant and for the birds ! Let us know how they grow !
