We had visitors on Saturday, and were fully prepared to feed the people. In the midst of this one of our cats came in, all agitated. When I went to check I realized it was only the Hedgehog Alert. Isn't this critter a cutie?

After having checked it for ticks we fed it, something it seemed to enjoy:

I really hope it went off and had some slugs for dessert.

Hahaha...what a `guest`. He doesn´t look excited or unhappy to be held--and he definately does not look to bashful to have a bite to eat.

Ahhh, what a little cutie! I'd love to find one of those in MY gardens...don't they like to eat slugs?

Sjoerd, our regular hedgehog visitors know the drill. They don't mind my handling them. I have to since I often have to remove them from my neighbour's sight. She doesn't like them much.

Netty, they do! That's why I treat them to nice food and health care. I hope they will repay me by snacking on slugs afterwards. :D

Hedgehogs are fantastic aren't they? I love to find them wandering about in my garden munching their way through all the slimey slugs.
I wonder if 'my' visitor from last year is still doing well? I wish I'd marked some of her spines with tippex now so that I could ID her if she returns.
    Great photograph Droopy. :-D

They were nearly gone around here a few years back, so we're happy for each and every one we see.

If not relaxed, it sort of allowed itself to be handled. :D They are wild animals after all, but get used to a bit of TLC in time.
