You started your post with the first word that was in @S-H 's and it should have been the last one which was 'ostracized'.✓

 

Irritant is something not to be ignored.

 

Ignored are how I make all my relatives feel, who I ostracized.

 

Ostracized, thrown out of the building and totally demoralized.

 

Demoralized for all time, but now finally realizing their mistakes, and desiring to reconnect and reconcile - At a stage of life where they today qualify as dotards...

 

Dotards are an old person, especially one who is weak and confused.
He was no drivelling dotard, but a smart, upright, handsome old man.

 

Man if you only knew my relatives, you wouldn't have said that.
