The parent of this came in a pot of Mondo grass I bought two years ago. I thought I had gotten rid of it then but evidently I missed something and that something was transported by critter unknown from the original planting place to where I found it this year.

That Lily coming up in the middle is another critter planted plant. My Lily bed is in another part of the yard, I think a squirrel moved it for me last year.

Reminds me of 2 plants Toni - Buttercups and Cranesbill Gerenium. Maybe a closer shot and I'd be able to tell which one it is. Do the leaves have a scent when you squish them?

I am almost certain that your picture is of a hardy geranium. No idea of variety until it flowers though.

Oh, I hope it is a geranium. I need to move it to a pot now, I found a coreopsis coming up in the middle of it along with that Lily.

My goodness, toni, what on earth are the critters doing to your yard? You need to tell them to not plant all the plants in the same hole but spread them out a bit. :D

I'm certain you'll manage that if you manage to re-train the mail-carriers.

I think I saw something like that out under one of the trees here. I'll have to go take another look. Today I found some pink oxalis in another spot in the middle of the yard. It is all around the trees. It must spread itself. dooley

Looks like the hardy geranium that I have in the back yard and the leaves don't have any scent.

Please believe bsewnsew, it is a horrible, prolific, pesky, almost impossible to get rid of WEED!!!! It laughs at Roundup. Pull it by the roots and burn it.
