Just heading out for a day of wandering and lunch in the city. Hung all the laundry out and before I had finished everything was frozen and as stiff as a board. I like eveything to get a good dose of fresh air, it will probably go out tomorrow as well to finish it off. Lovely and sunny 1C ( feels like -3)
Sitting having lunch by the sea front...beautiful !! Checked the security at home ..the sun is slowy starting to thaw our garden out. 2C ( feels like -3C)
Surprise, surprise despite most of the garden remaining frozen all our laundry was dry by the time we got home around 4.
Still got the snow but it's dry so it's easy to walk on. With a clear sky and light winds from the north west temp -3c feels like -7c
40 was the low and 62°f for the high. It stayed dark and overcast, not one drop of sunlight all day. My veg are not real happy, they told me, they want "Sun-shi-iiiine, on a cloud-yyyy day !! "
Cloudy and no sunlight sounds very familiar for normal winters up here in the PNW. Usually just as the sun pops out it’s sunset time. This time of year we get some really spectacular sunsets. In some cases I have been known to cover plants at risk , usually in May or June from a last sneaky frost and adding a couple lights for heat to keep them from freezing. Old heat lamps… long extension cords… I have a few clear tents to pop over plants during an odd chill or two. I just tell the plants they will be camping for a few days to encourage growth during odd weather cycles.

Snow is still on the ground and it did start to snow again but has stopped and a bit of broken cloud. It's supposed to rain at 5pm but if it does the paths will be icy. Light cloud and light winds from the south west temp 0c feels like -5c
