@marlingardener - that sounds delicious Lady J. I had to look up the Picatta and have bookmarked it to my recipes for trying in the near future. :)

Tonight is souvlaki, tzatziki, feta rice and caesar salad. ( using up the romaine - three more heads of lettuce to go). This is a photo of the rice dish I took for my oldest daughter - it is her recipe. Basmatti rice, stock, onion, garlic, oregano, basil, zucchini, olives, red pepper and feta. I love that it is a one pan dish.

Has anyone grilled Romaine before? I've heard of it, but it sounds so wrong. hahaha Just curious.

It's making me hungry @Cayuga Morning :) Tonight is grilled Tuna steak, fresh pesto linguini and a tossed salad. ( If I get off my tuska and take the tuna out of the freezer soon).

    I just made a chicken-lentil-kale soup/stew. It'll be good tonight.

Sorry that I missed this....I'm quite jealous. I've never fished for salmon. That is exciting. Your salmon for dinner must have been quite exemplory.

What all can you catch there?
When we lived in Alaska I fished for salmon, dolly varden trout, rainbow trout, brown trout and arctic char. I never did ice fishing though.

In the lakes close to where Ilive, I primarily catch rainbow trout. There is also Lake Trout ( Char), Kokanee ( Landlock Salmon...quite small usually pan fry size and as big as a few lbs), Ling Cod and White Fish. River Fishing is fly fishing, and primariliy rainbow. Although once I did catch a small lake trout :) I love to ice fish, but have to catch windows of sound ice before it gets too much snow on it to insulate it. The ice fishing is a sled ride and the ice needs to support the sleds. We don't fish the larger lakes anymore, although I used to drive out on them with my Dad to fish. It's not advisable now a adays.

There is salmon fishing in the rivers a few hours away from where I live, but not something I've ever done. I do have a salmon fly for my fly rod though...one day. :)

Basil cream chicken soup with yeast rolls. I did not use milk exactly, there was butter for a blond roux and I added creme fresh late and at the very end when it cooled down some. Onions and garlic and soup veggies, basil 2x, thyme and oregano. She who loves me had seconds!

Hubby wanted chinese food, so today is homemade chicken chow mein, ginger beef, sweet and sour pork and steamed rice. If I have time I will make some spring rolls, but not too sure about that. :)

I made masa shells for taco salad, avocado and creme fresh. Do you know how hard it is to roll flour tortillas real thin? Mine look like a bug on the windshield. Masa is so much easier!

Never ever blend Chipotles in Adobe Sauce with Creme Fraiche. Ever. Just do not try it. Especially if you are baking burritoes or trying something that uses a lot of cumin. You will become addicted!
