What are your experiences with wild animals around your garden ?

Damn Melody, you got a regular zoo there . I thought I had a lot of wildlife. You could charge admission to people who come over your house

Racoons and squirrels I love, but I cannot stand rats. We went to Times Square for New Years on the Millenial and saw some gangster rats. I commented to the misses and a police officer overheard me and told me "Don't even think about messing with them, they"re nasty SOB's"

 

@Pacnorwest I had a ton of deer on our farm. There's an ancient sinkhole on about 6 acres on the north part of the property and you could not put a foot down without stepping on deer tracks.

One morning I had a new roll of hay, (laying on it's side so I could just roll it into the pasture) under the pole barn and there were two holes in it. One hole near the top and another about 18" off the ground. Momma and baby deer came for a little nosh in the dead of night. Itty bitty baby deer foot prints right there by the hay.

 

it sounds wonderful in many ways. But a big challenge for the gardener.

 

Lots of deer visit while browsing thru the salad bar .
