No gardening this year...doing too much other work on the house for this year. It was good to, not haul, 150 cubic yards of mulch on my double snow mobile trailer, this spring. We keep down the high weeds but the gardens are still looking very over grown...We will get it in shape during August.

Y'know Cayuga--I haven't seen anything in your gardens that doesn't look great. I think that you have an eye for it.
BTW--I as wondering about those discreet Iris plants in piccy number two--do they bloom well for you?
The Stokesia I really like. In my gartden I do not grow them in a "stand" like4 you, but rather have them scattered in with other taller plants so that the stems are much longer than normal... these incredibly long flower stems are supported by the companions surrounding them.

I see a number of plants that I have or have had....so I am not going to not like your choices am I? hahaha.

your combos look nice. I don't grow perennials so I really don't have combos to share. I usually do just annuals.

Thanks all! Glad you liked the photos. Please keep this thread in mind & post photos of combos that you like.

@Sjoerd , the mini irises have been doing well for me. They seem free of the dreaded iris borer. I have some that are a pale lavender that I pair with deeper lavender ground phlox.

BTW, I am not surprised you are familiar with most of these perennials!

@2ofus beautiful gardens! I particularly like the last photo showing 3 (or 4?) plants with different shades of purple flowers. Eye catching. I also really like the first: a stand of ?salvia with some carnations? I like the different forms of the flowers.

@carolyn I love your baskets! I can't say which one I like the best....maybe the last? The combo of a purple petunia and a purple sweet potato, what a great idea!
