I chased this butterfly around the yard yesterday. Finally got a picture of it. I don't know whether these two are the same butterfly or not. The one on the ground was taken in my green house this morning.
    Thanks!

Toni...I didn't click on your link yet but all of the information I found was that it is an eastern swallowtail like I get here. I will do a little more investigating on your link. I had seen pictures of the zebra swallowtail being more white. I will return.

Now I saw a picture of a western tiger swallowtail that looks like it...so I am not sure what it is besides that it is a swallowtail.

Maybe we can get 2 or 3 pictures of the different ones side by side but seeing that the picture was taken in Canada, it most likely could be the canadian tiger swallowtail...

Thank you for all the input of the butterfly. I think by looking at Sherry8's picture that it looks like an Eastern Tiger Swallowtail. There were swarms of them here this morning but they are gone now. Here are two more pictures.
Thank you everyone for all your help with this one. :)

Yes they are beautiful. I love seeing them in my garden also. We plant for them so then have a food source.
