What do you do to help make the long dark evenings more enjoyable.

Yes we have a lot here in our area too @Doghouse Riley , such works of art they are. The knitters are very obviously an extremely talented bunch.
They certainly brighten the place up and their creations are greatly admired and appreciated by everyone.

 

For "something to do" at this time of the year, I've just bought this vintage tuner/amp on e-Bay. It should arrive early next week. The vendor has 100% positive feedback on over 1000 sales. So I think it will be OK. The same model was sold for much more money, earlier in the week. It's a respected make.

Between Oriet’s beautiful knitting and DHR it seem like between the 2 of you you can teach me a lot of handy and useful fun things to keep me outta trouble.
Mostly making flowers and landscapes designs or make collages from dried flower and othe plant materials. Collect lavender to spread on the floor when vacuuming which leaves a nice fresh scent behind. Or decopauge dried flowers for design on China and collages. I also like to collect paper birch bark for picture , make wreaths , swags from plant materials and dried floral designs and coving boxes. What ever I find in the garden and the materials available in the garden send out those creative vibes. Shocking I know from a gardener. Last pic is my art studio.

 

Gosh what talent @Pacnorwest!!!!! ... not just the skill and artistry of designing and making your fabulous designs but also having the vision and knowledge of what to look for and gather from your garden in order to achieve the desired outcomes. Brilliant.

The tuner/amp I bought on eBay arrived today. It's a well respected brand.
It's sometimes a "pig in a poke" buying on eBay, but I've rarely been disappointed with such purchases.
It came very well packed. For a forty-odd year old unit, it's in immaculate condition and everything works!

It doesn't have a tuning meter, but if you're too low or high, a little red light starts to increase in intensity on either side of the green and they disappear when you're spot on and the stereo light comes on. I've crap radio reception in my "office" (our back bedroom) and I'm using cheap bookshelf speakers, but I'm still impressed.
I've tried it out with a cassette recorder and that sounded good too.

I really didn't need this, as I've three other equally vintage tuner/amps all fully functional, but I've only two sets of speakers and just as few places, to put them. But I like to ring the changes, now and again
