Thanks Cayu...heh, heh, heh. I know it is unsightly, but it works and hopefully will do the job this winter.

You are right, I do know what those meetings are like, as our organization has one every year. They are often roudy and folks always stray from the subjects. Sometimes tempers even flare. Ha ha.

Well mate, here’s wishing you strength with that meeting. I picture you swilling wine like in that foto...they call it “Dutch Courage” don’t they. chuckle.
I hope that you will report back and describe how it went, I can compare or contrast it to our own.

picked the last of the greenbeans I have been nursing along for the entire late Summer and Fall. I finally pulled them and picked what was there. I was hoping for another 20 quarts. I ended up with 18. happy with that.

Weed whacked between the two fences the whole perimeter at the Community Garden. Pretty tiring.

I cut the last of the corn down. They were quite tall, about 6-7 feet. My neighbor requested them for fall decorating in her yard.

My fall peas are growing nicely in the garden. They are flowering now. I hope (hope springs eternal!) to get peas from them. I should probably put a row cover on them to protect them from frost.

Baby kales are still growing & looking good. Same with the baby bok choys.

I still have to put compost on all the beds and plant the garlic......

Cayu, you’d better get a cloche on them before the really cold weather sets in.
It sounds like you still have quite a bit going on there.

What have I been doing in the garden recently, not much apart from harvesting and composting really. The clocks changed, so now I can get an hour in before work in the morning. We had an early patchy ground frost 10 days ago which was enough to kill off the more fragile plants in the garden.

When I planted these 2 rows of scarole(a kind of bitter lettuce or chicory type plant) with carrots in between, I never realised that the carrots would get so shaded out. They are coming along nicely now though.

Ruccola doing well, the beans have had it.

Still having really large, juicy and tasty strawberries.

    Harvested a bit today.

Sorry about the glitches on my post.

Just got back from the lottie where we took the leaves gathered by the leaf team here at the appartement building. The leaf mould process has begun now.

It was very wet and rained the whole time we were there. We took some jam and honey to some folks we know and picked up the order of chook from the poulier.
After that we went for a walk in the park...it was still raining when we got home. Gurrrrr.

Now back inside we can chat, nibble on licorice anf fool around on the tablets. We are taking a little pause whilst we wait for din-din to heat up.

It looked like a total loser of a day, but we made something of it anyway.

Sjoerd, you truly do make lemonade from lemons! Turning a crummy day into a good one takes talent!
Our day was similar--overcast, windy, and very, very cool. But, we fed the chickens, husband drew some designs for making cabinets, I went to the grocery and saw a couple of friends. Then home to lunch and a warm house.
My only gardening contribution today was a quick trip to the compost pile. I looked at the volunteer garden (two tomato plants and a squash) and then scurried inside.

    Ahhh thanks Jane.
    Nice looking harvest Odif.

We popped out to the lottie because we got an email that there had been a couple of break-ins and some damage here and there. We were lucky this time, no damage. We brought home favourite tools and our gas bottle for making tea. Oh yes, and I fed the birdies.
