The sun did finally come out this afternoon and as much as I hate to admit it I am similar to the solar batteries . Racing out to absorb the sunlight every mininute I can.The minute the sun pops out I’m ready to recharge my batteries. Vit—D. Mow mow and clip tree and shrubs and mulched all of them. Took some garden pics and reorganized the Amaryllis collection .

Nothing today as we're off out for lunch and a stroll around the city. Just been for a quick garden walkabout to see how everything is and noticed a few Strawberries that the birds haven't got to yet so I quickly picked them....for us!!!:D:like:

Our temps are fairly warm today so happy not to being on garden duties today......have a super day everyone.

I managed to pull up some weeds and found that I have 2 sunflowers growing in my herb garden! I am keeping them there with the cosmos and i'll have nice prettys in late summer from that. I didn't get a lot cleared up sadly, I really need to get Mulch and get a lot of my invasive grass under control :(

I had scattered seed from...I think it was a Gaillardia that I saved seed from. I just chopped off the head of a flower last year, set it on top of a small standing cabinet I have, then forgot allll about it !! No idea what it is, but lots came up in each pot so I potted those on. I have 28 of those whatchamacallits anyway !! :smt005

Then, since it was only 80°f outside I did some weedeating. All was going along fine until I hit a fireant nest. Of course I was in shorts and flip flops !! :smt088 Like a dummy !! So, after rubbing off as many as I could off my feet and ankles I quit to get a shower and some calamine lotion on those bites.

Just watering the seedlings...well bigger than seedlings now of course ,some are quite big!! Also all the newly planted out ones too got a good drink this evening after we returned home.

@Logan sorry to seem nosey but as an ex hairstylist I'm curious to know why hair washing takes up so much time? I wash mine every other day giving it a conditioning treatment too now that I've grown it long and then I get on with my day leaving it to dry naturally...takes all of 20 mins. Just interested.:)

On the south side of my kitchen garden, is a row of lilacs alternating with Ceanothus. The lilacs have been so vigorous - probably 12 feet tall. They were threatening to shade the kitchen garden.

Today I cut three of them back to around five feet tall.

The ceanothus could also use pruning. I'll wait until after they bloom. Bees of all sorts are having a feast on the flowers.

I pruned tall branches from one last apple tree, and thinned the apples go one per hand-span.

I gave some vegetable fertilizer to the tomatoes, young fig trees, and squashes.

Tested the drip irrigation system, again. Seems OK.

Slugs seem to be climbing up the strawberry containers and eating the strawberries. I spread slug bait. Tonight I'll have to add bird flash tape too - birds eat all of the slug bait. I don't want that, for several reasons.

OK, thanks for the info Annie Kay. I'll remove that part so it isn't an issue for anyone. I don't have a good way to post i-phone videos here.

@Oreti it's ok you can be nosey, :) I only have time to do gardening between 10.30am and 12. pm so i do my hair at that time. I do a separate shampoo and conditioner because it's long I like to keep the towel on my head for a long time to dry it a lot, then i can comb it and dry on its own. these days i only wash it once a week.

I dug up my Potatoes and picked blackberries again. I am going to finish weedeating and might have time to get the yard mowed too. I'll put pics up of the potato harvest in my fruit and veg thread.

Started early at 9am with tidying up all the patio beds removing spent foliage from Spring bulbs I then began planting out Geraniums, Snapdragons, Carnations, Marigolds and Lobelia in the two raised beds on the family room patio.

Carried on all afternoon until 5:30.with continuing to plant out the 4 raised beds on the Kitchen patio, Geraniums, Carnations, Marigolds, Cosmos and Cleome. Pulled up a lot of the Rock Rose as they get woody with bare stems and sprawl everywhere after a few years. Easy to propagate though so will do that tomorrow. Drastically thinned out the Hellebore leaves as well as they were taking over the borders.

Repotted the Platycodons in their pots to display on the Kitchen patio too.

Busy day and feeling shattered now as everything takes me so long still and as I can't carry a lot in one go I made what seemed like 100's of trips back and forth to the nursery area carrying plants , pots, compost and numerous gardening implements. I now have one very swollen leg to nurse this evening.

I should 've worn my fitness tracker to see how far I had walked.....I will tomorrow :like:.

The usual suspects of chores. Pine needles covering driveway- removed. Mow pastures. Cleaned moss of porch and walls.
