It was chucking it down and blowing a gale this morning so, I didn't go into the garden.

It dried up in the afternoon, but was still "blowy."
I noticed that the mimosa had nearly broken free from its restraining wires and was in danger of banging against the fence panel and damaging it.
I needed a solution to let it move a bit, but not too much.
So I used a bit of "engineering science" and just as importantly, what I had in the garage.

I still had the very stout long dowel, that I used to support it when it needed it,
so I created a "torsion bar."
I attached the dowel to two of the concrete fence posts and wired the trunk of the mimosa to it using a bit of vinyl to protect it.

It can still wave about a bit, as the dowel will flex, but it stops the trunk from hitting the fence in a strung gust.,
