All I've done is watering today. It's bone dry, burnt grass and we aren't expected to have a drop of rain for another week. That'll make 4 weeks with no rain and...we are also having a heat wave with temps in the low to mid 90's. :(

Sorry to hear that @Anniekay , we went a couple of months without rain a few months back now and we had...still have a hosepipe ban. Our garden really suffered ,we are on land that was once part of a clay quarry making house bricks . It may have closed many, many years ago but unfortunately there is still plenty of clay remaining !!! We have lost a fair few plants/ shrubs this year due to the heatwave and drought. You just feel helpless with no control and it's heart breaking to watch your garden shrivel up before your eyes.:(

I have been busy here, but things are also bone dry. We did have a wee bit of rain this past weekend, and it is greatly appreciated. It was maybe 1/2 inch or so, not near enough to bust the drought. I water my veggie garden and some of my containers. Even though I am on my own well, I do not care to kill the pump as they are very costly. I am trying to save what I can save.

There is a new tropical storm in the mid-Atlantic they are calling Gabrielle. It just formed overnight, but appears to be headed for the islands and Florida so far. There is another storm trying to form right behind it off the coast of Africa. This time of year it takes a tropical storm/low pressure/hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico to get rain inland to southern Missouri and the midwestern states.

I hope we can all get rain without the destruction of hurricanes.

A friend shared some pears from her pear tree yesterday which is good because the critters got all the pears off of my tree this summer. :(

I do have a few medium pumpkins ripening and an occasional tomato or pepper.
