Saw these on the North Coast yesterday

The smelly bush is in flower, Tetters knows its name

 

We call it, “vleesbes”, what it is in English, I do not know.

 

Is that honeysuckle? One of my favorites, if so!

 

It is a Sarcococca hookeriana

 

That's easy for you to say I'm sticking with smellybush

 

I've got one of those smelly bushes, the flowers are very tiny.

 

Now come on Logan - you can do it....Sar co cocca (cocker)

 

Yes I did it.

 

When I went to find the Latin name for vleesbes, Sarcococca is what I found as well.
That Tetters knows her stuff innit.

Sjoerd, I worked in a nursery for years propagating shrubs innit, and sometimes (not always) I remember the names, usually after I've had to label a thousand or three with the correct name. As the memory fades I usually forget more than I remember ....wots my name ???
