I really wish we could grow camellias here, but our soil is far too alkaline. I believe those wonderful trilliums need the same acidity as the camellias - so there's not a lot of hope for those either ......never mind.
Trilliums already! Wow, ours aren't usually out for several more weeks. The promise of spring ... I'm getting excited!
They look lovely @Pacnorwest They're lovely too @Logan Had to wait for the sun to come back out to get this shot...
Pac— did I see some Peony shoots coming up there? Loggie— wonderful daffs. They are so nice to see in the spring, aren’t they.
Absolutely … yes peony shoots are poppin too! Good eye Sjoerd. Poisonous bulbs…Look what the gophers, belding ground squirrels, voles, mice and deer left behind. They ate all my tulips…
Logan thank you. This is early in the season and fighting them all from creating mounds every few inched]s in the garden and pastures. Setting traps moles, and traps for the Belding ground squirrels. “The battle has begun”. AGAIN..
I haven't got much blooming yet. This is the first time my Peach tree has bloomed. It's the second pic. It was planted in fall 2021as a 3' whip. The first pic is a nectarine tree that was planted the same time as the peach and is almost in full bloom !! I might get a nectarine or two, knock wood !!
Pac— what a shame about those tulips. Well, the piccies that you showed look splendid. Very nice. I am getting into the Spring spirit. Cheers.
