    Schlumbergera update.

    Historical note: These cacti were named for Frédéric Schlumberger (1823–1893). Despite the angry sounding, gutteral name, he was French. Then again, his father came from Alsace, so who knows? Schlumberger was a cactus hobbyist in Rhouen in Northern France. However the cacti originate in treetops and rocks in coastal Brazil, from shady, humid climates.
